    Job purpose

    The Communications Manager oversees internal and external communication by understanding and effectively conveying our company vision, promoting the organization and our services, and maintaining and improving relations within our franchise system, our company, the franchise community and with our shareholders.

    Qualifications

    The minimum qualifications for this job are as follows:

    • Minimum 7 years’ experience in communications, public relations and/or in investor relations roles.
    • Significant experience in franchise environment, with a clear understanding of the franchising model.
    • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in Communications, Public Relations or similar field of study.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Have the ability to quickly learn new programs and technology as needed.
    • Must have an inherent drive to succeed and have a competitive spirit.
    • Sociable personality and genuine amiability with people.
    • The ability to work as part of a team.

    Duties and responsibilities

    The essential duties and responsibilities of the Communications Manager are as follows:

    • Oversees internal employee communications regarding company performance, future direction, or corporate or human resource policies.
    • Directs and oversees communications programs that effectively describe and promote the organization and its services.
    • Aids in the preparation of presentations geared toward employees and franchisees.
    • Manages brand standards and the content of brochures, policies, memos, or emails.
    • Develops press releases, white papers and supporting materials.
    • Manages media relations, announcements, editorial placement, and speaking opportunities. Serves as the liaison with the outsourced public relations firm.
    • Monitors accuracy and timeliness of information distributed.
    • Suggest promotional campaign ideas in various types of media, as well as counsels top management on effective communication strategies.
    • May conduct market or network opinion research to assess program outcomes.
    • Ensure assigned internal controls are timely and properly performed, evidence of control performance is retained and made available to management, the external audit firm and internal audit upon request, as required for applicable positions.
    • Performs office or non-manual work directly related to the management or general business operations of the company
    • Reviews and approves all pertinent internal and external communications
    • Assists with creating and proof reading internal and external communications.
    • Assists with the development and accuracy of presentation materials, documents and other communication vehicles as it relates to internal and external events, training materials and meeting documents.
    • Exercises discretion and independent judgement with respect to matters of significance
