Senior Executive Director of Operations - Chief Operations Officer

Compensation Range: $100,000 to $150,000, plus bonuses, benefits and stock options

Salt Lake City, Utah

 

We are hiring an operations professional.  Depending upon experience and qualifications, the position is for a Senior Executive Director of Operations, Vice President of Operations or Chief Operating Officer.  This member of senior management will facilitate, direct, and coordinate our operational activities.  This includes oversight of staff that provide services to our franchise network.  The successful candidate will also work closely with our CEO, and Advisory Board building effective partnerships and promoting collaborative relationships in the real estate services industry.  The operations professional will be responsible for implementing Corporate and franchise-wide strategic initiatives and policies.  The preferred candidate will be a highly intelligent, experienced and qualified executive whose experience includes successfully managing in a complex and entrepreneurial environment.  The ideal candidate's management style will exhibit integrity, collaboration and flexibility.

Responsibilities

  • Manage relationships between franchise owners and Corporate;
  • Manage direct reports and ensure implementation of business strategies, plans and procedures established by senior management and Advisory Board;
  • Coach and train staff on operational best practices relevant to issues and vulnerabilities that relate to their jobs and/or division;
  • Implement industry best practices, and ensure that existing policies and procedures are consistently executed, both at Corporate and within our franchise network;
  • Inspect and manage franchisee operational controls, including audits (in coordination staff and 3rd parties) to ensure franchisee compliance with ALL components of our franchise system;
  • Develop, pull and review corporate/franchisee operational reports each workday morning;
  • Execute random spot reviews at Corporate to ensure all reporting, data collection/accuracy, system compliance and regulatory standards are maintained;
  • Manage relationships/contracts with national vendors that provide services to our franchise network;
  • Ensure all insurance policies remain in effect, and Corporate and franchisees remain in compliance with the conditions of these policies;
  • Oversee Corporate division results, and ensure division management is held to monthly, quarterly and annual performance goals;
  • Work with third-party human resources company to ensure compliance with all corporate and regulatory rules, regulations and laws;
  • Establish policies that promote a positive, united company culture and vision;
  • Coordinate planning, with Corporate team, of annual convention;
  • Oversee daily operations of the company and monitor the work of Corporate executives;
  • Evaluate performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics;
  • Write and submit memos and reports, in all matters of importance, to CEO, Advisory Board, senior management, subordinates and in many instances directly with franchise network;
  • Prepare comprehensive reports for, and participate in portions of, Advisory Board meetings;
  • Report directly to the President/CEO, and communicate regularly with Advisory Board.

Requirements

·         Proven operational senior management experience;

  • Strong business experience across business functions; such as HR, Finance, Training, etc.;
  • Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development;
  • Strong working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics;
  • Capable of developing a culture that thrives under pressure and excels in a result-orientated environment;
  • Knowledgeable in all aspects of the franchise process: sales, training, opening, support, etc.;
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities;
  • Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills;
  • Superior aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving;
  • Professional franchise and real estate experience preferred, and MSc/MBA is a plus.
